chimpanzees heirarchy -Erin B

Chimpanzees have a hierarchy in their group.A hierarchy is like a ladder with the most dominant and strongest member of the group on the top and the smallest and weakest on the bottom. the highest on the ladder is the alpha male. their job is to control the group and fight of other groups that trespass in their groups environment. they also have advantages eg: best food, lots of grooming.they can also sometimes get aggressive and can bite into any chimps that get on their nerves. this usually happens when the other chimps do not use the respectful gestures like showing the alpha male their rear or putting their head into the alpha males mouth.(i know, weird right)
